The US New Community Project partners with Urbanstead Philadelphia

The New Community Project spent the day at an urban farm in Philadelphia with their project partner -  Urbanstead, a not-for-profit in Philadelphia dedicated to eradicating food-deserts in urban environments.  Urbanstead’s vision is to support the development of community-driven urban farm projects in Philadelphia that support food justice, local entrepreneurship, stewardship of the urban ecosystem, and community support networks. With training in innovative urban agricultural practices, strong partnerships, expertise in garden development and at-risk youth empowerment, we are poised to foster successful urban farming initiatives throughout Philadelphia in order to improve food access, green infrastructure, and economic opportunity.  You can read more about the organization by clicking here
