Fall Vegetable Plantings in the Academic Courtyard
Upper School AP Environmental Science students Shirra Wein and Zach Burkhart tend their fall vegetable plantings in the Academic Courtyard. With raised beds for upper school and middle school student research, The Academic Courtyard has been a real game changer for curriculum in the sciences. When asked about their work on measuring growth rates in
lettuces, Burhart reports, "It's a fun, a great way to take earth science and experience close at hand." Wein adds, "This is practical know ledge for life."
